Brand Ambassadors

At MOT SA we are proud to have six well-known personalities who have been offering their committed support to MOT SA.


Danny K

Danny K (full name Daniel Koppel, born 8 September 1977) is a versatile South African singer, songwriter and actor. He holds a B.A. degree from the Wits University. He has produced some chart topping hits and award winning albums. He was one of the first South African musicians to perform on the Oprah Winfrey show in Chicago with guests like Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Josh Groban and John Travolta. Danny has toured and performed with many renowned international acts including: Usher, Craig David, P Diddy, Ladysmith Black Mombazo, Eric Benet, Bob Geldof, U2, Queen and Beyoncé.

He is also one of only five South African acts chosen to perform at Nelson Mandela's 46664 concert at the Green Point Stadium, Cape Town, South Africa which was broadcast to three billion people worldwide. Danny has also performed for the opening of the ICC World Cup as well as for Nelson Mandela and Oprah Winfrey and Madiba's annual birthday party in Qunu in Transkei, South Africa. On 7 July 2007 Danny K performed at the South African leg of Live Earth.

Danny K is the leader of the SHOUT initiative and is proud to be part of MOT SA because of what MOT does.

Hilton Langenhoven

Hilton LangenhovenHilton was born in Somerset-West in 1983 and attended the Athlone School for the Blind. He joined the greats at the 2008 Beijing Summer Paralympics where he won 3 gold medals. At the Games he set a new world record in the men’s pentathlon, set a new Paralympic record in the men’s long jump and won the 200 m in 21.94 seconds. He was also nominated as Blind Cricketer of the Year by Cricket South Africa. Hilton’s goal is to perform at his best at the Paralympics.

He also dreams of becoming a good surfer. Hilton is enthusiastic about being a Brand Ambassador for MOT SA and about being given the opportunity to inspire the youth.


Sasha-Lee Davids

Sasha-Lee DavidsAt the age of 18, Sasha-Lee was crowned as the joint winner of South African Idols 2009. She hails from Atlantis in the Western Cape and grew up in a music-loving family. Sasha-Lee is determined to make a success of her music career. Her role models and biggest inspiration are her parents, who instilled in her the belief that “it’s not how you fall, but how you stand up”. What stands out about Sasha-Lee is her willingness to learn and improve all the time.

She has toured the country, performing everywhere from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth, Kimberly to Namibia. She has also done some major performance, including the opening of Parliament and the closing ceremony of the Indian Premier League in 2009. Her debut album was released in November 2009 and made the top ten best-selling albums when it debuted. In a Rapport article on MOT in 2009, Sasha-Lee stated that to say “no” to negative peer pressure and “yes” to opportunities, is also her life philosophy.


Natalie Becker

Natalie BeckerNatalie Becker is an award–winning international actress, voice artist, public speaker, Master of Ceremonies and presenter, Natalie Becker. Natalie has worked on various prestigious productions and broadcasts in film, television and radio. Between 2007 and 2009, Natalie filmed five international movies including ‘The World Unseen’ for which she won a 2009 SAFTA (South African Film and Television Award) for Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film, for her role as “Farah” and which garnered numerous international awards.

Natalie studied Economics and Industrial Psychology at UCT and graduated in 1994. She worked in the Investment and Advertising Industry before entering the media world. She has presented shows on all the major SA Television channels including “Free Spirit” on SABC 3 and has been a radio presenter and producer on Heart FM (formerly P4radio) and Good Hope FM. Natalie has been a Spokesperson and the face of the Cape Town Festival and is a former Ambassador of Learning Cape, brand ambassador for Gucci eyewear, Renault and Audi, South Africa.

Natalie is also a writer and her work “The Tao of Nat”, an inspirational manifesto for children, has been published by the 'Centre for the Book' in Cape Town. She has also been the Lifestyle Editor for The Deal magazine and featured in many others. Natalie was born in George and raised in Cape Town. What is amazing about Natalie is her youthful life filled with energy and passion.

Soli Philander

Sasha-Lee DavidsSoli Philander is one of South Africa’s top and most versatile performers. This seasoned broadcaster is also an award-winning actor, television presenter, director, comedian, playwright, columnist and motivational speaker. Born and bred in Elsies River, Soli’s roots are firmly planted in the Cape. After matriculating from John Ramsay Secondary School in Bishop Lavis, he says he “fell into acting” after accompanying a friend to an audition. Since then he has performed around South Africa in all the key theatres.

He has also performed internationally in Sweden, The Netherlands, America, the UK, Swaziland and Namibia. Over the course of his prestigious career Soli has hosted numerous radio shows and formed part of the original 567 CapeTalk line-up in 1997. To television viewers he is best known as the host of M-Net pay-channel’s local version of the popular game show “Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?” and the Afrikaans music quiz show “Liriekeraai.”

He also hosted the first season of ETV’s charity reality show “Let's Fix It.” Soli is passionate to make a difference in the lives of learners at school.


Ayanda Tini

Ayanda TiniAyanda Tini is a South African radio DJ, television presenter; voice over artist; actress, motivational speaker, born and bred in Cape Town, went to a girls school and after completing her Diploma in Performing Arts at CADA, she did mostly stage work.

Ayanda is the soul host of a lunchtime radio show on Good Hope FM. She started her television career by presenting Hip2B2 on SABC2 and went on to do a children's educational technology show and has featured in a drama series, Interrogation Room and Stokvel, on SABC1. She was also part of a German and Belgium film, and shot a couple of international television commercials. She plays the role of Vatiswa Duze, the wife of a wealthy businessman, in the SABC1 drama series Montana, since April 2009. Ayanda has been the MC for many corporate events and has excelled in that division by hosting The National Heritage Day Celebrations in 2006 for the National Department of Arts and Culture, and in 2007 she hosted the 90th Anniversary of the "Sinking of the troopship SS Mendi" for the same department.

She was recognized by the South African Music Awards in 2010 to present an award for the best Neo-Soul; Rhythm and Blues album. She also does motivational work with the youth, works with young women, and was a volunteer at Pollsmoor prison. She works in the community and strives to make the world a better place. Ayanda joined MOT for what it does and stands for and therefore are proud to be a Brand Ambassador of MOT SA.
